Mapping

A urine test that shows how well your body makes energy, uses vitamins and clears waste.

What it is

Metabolic Testing From a Urine Sample

When your body makes energy and processes nutrients, it produces organic acids that pass into your urine. This test measures them to show how key metabolic and nutritional pathways are working.

Urine samples in test tubes, ready for laboratory analysis
  • One Urine Sample

A single urine sample is collected and sent to the laboratory.

  • Metabolic Markers

The lab measures organic-acid markers linked to metabolic and nutritional pathways.

  • Results Grouped by Body System

Results cover energy, nutrients, detoxification, gut activity and more.

Overview

What the Panel Measures

The profile measures organic-acid markers across several metabolic and nutritional pathways.

  • Energy & Nutrients

Markers for cellular energy production and functional vitamin, mineral and B-vitamin needs.

  • Oxidative Stress

Metabolites linked to oxidative stress and how much antioxidant support your body needs.

  • Methylation & Detoxification

Markers for methylation and Phase I and Phase II detoxification pathways.

  • Brain & Gut Markers

Metabolites from neurotransmitter pathways, plus markers of bacterial and yeast activity.

Frequently Asked

Common Questions About Organic Acid Testing

Can’t find your question here? Send it to us and we will reply before you book.

Ask your question
How is this different from a blood vitamin test?

A blood level tells you how much of a nutrient is circulating. An Organic Acid marker tells you whether the enzyme reaction that needs it is running properly. The two can disagree, and when they do, the functional marker is usually the more actionable one.

Do I need to prepare for the sample?

Yes. Certain foods, drinks and supplements affect specific markers, so written instructions are issued with the kit. Following them makes sure the result can be read correctly. If needed, we will delay the test rather than run a sample that gives unreliable results.

Will the results tell me exactly which supplements to take?

They point at specific metabolic steps, which makes nutritional support far more targeted than a general regimen. But the panel is read alongside your diet, your symptoms and your other markers before anything is recommended. The aim is usually a shorter list than the one you arrived with.

Do I need a consultation first?

Yes. A doctor orders the test after a consultation, so it is chosen for your history and symptoms, not picked from a list. The same doctor then explains your results.

Where are the samples analyzed?

Samples are processed by accredited local and international laboratories, including partners in Australia, Germany and the USA, depending on which panel is ordered.

What happens after the results come back?

Your doctor goes through your results with you in person instead of emailing them. Together you agree a personalized plan, and the relevant markers are retested later to check it is working.
