Overview

Food Allergy and Intolerance Test Options

The right test depends on your symptoms, reaction pattern, health history and individual needs.

  • Allergy Testing

Targeted allergy tests for symptoms that suggest an immediate allergic reaction.

  • Broad Food Sensitivity Panels

Broader food panels for symptoms that are recurring, delayed or hard to link to one food.

  • Personalized Test Selection

The test is chosen based on your symptoms, diet, medical history and concerns.

  • Other Digestive & Immune Tests

If food tests do not explain your symptoms, other digestive or immune tests may be considered.

Frequently Asked

Common Questions About Food Allergy and Intolerance Testing

Can’t find your question here? Send it to us and we will reply before you book.

Ask your question
Is an IgG or ALCAT result a diagnosis of food allergy?

No, and this matters. Those tests do not diagnose allergy, which is IgE-mediated and tested for separately. IgG and cellular methods are used here to generate a shortlist for a structured elimination trial, and the trial is what decides the answer.

Should I stop eating everything the report flags?

No. That is the most common mistake made with these panels, and it produces unnecessarily restricted diets. We take the flagged foods, cross them against your actual symptom history, and test the plausible ones properly, one at a time.

I have had a severe reaction to a food before. Is this the right test?

If you have had a rapid or severe reaction, tell us at the consultation, because that history takes priority over any panel. Suspected severe allergy is handled through IgE testing and, where appropriate, referral to a specialist allergy service, not worked out from an intolerance panel.

Do I need a consultation first?

Yes. A doctor orders the test after a consultation, so it is chosen for your history and symptoms, not picked from a list. The same doctor then explains your results.

Where are the samples analyzed?

Samples are processed by accredited local and international laboratories, including partners in Australia, Germany and the USA, depending on which panel is ordered.

What happens after the results come back?

Your doctor goes through your results with you in person instead of emailing them. Together you agree a personalized plan, and the relevant markers are retested later to check it is working.
